The new Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 has won its first award being named Best Eco Car of 2011, five months before it goes on sale in the UK. This new Peugeot 3008 model features Peugeot’s advanced diesel electric hybrid technology, with benchmark setting CO2 emissions when it is launched in the Autumn.

The Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 will be the world’s first production diesel-electric hybrid, which was unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. The new hybrid delivers a fuel economy of up to 74 mpg , 3.8 L/100 km (62 miles per US gallon) and CO2 emissions of 99g/km on the European test cycle.

The new Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 has four different operating modes: Auto (the electronics automatically control the entire system), ZEV (all-electric), four-wheel drive mode (4WD) and sport (higher engine speeds than normal mode).

There is also a nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery pack is located in the rear.

The Peugeot 3008 was awarded ‘Car of the Year 2010′ by the British motoring magazine What Car? in January 2010, and it also was awarded 2010 Semperit Irish Car of the Year in Ireland.
